Job summary

Electric Boat is seeking engineers in the Electrical Components Department to develop components for US Navy submarines, collaborating with Navy and suppliers on hull penetrators, cable assemblies, power distribution hardware, and propulsion systems.

Responsibilities include defining technical requirements, supplier oversight, reviewing drawings, leading meetings, and coordinating with NAVY customers. Travel to Navy and supplier facilities and on-site construction support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years postgraduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical requirements for submarine components.
• Oversee supplier design, development and qualification activities.
• Review drawings and technical documentation: procedures, reports, manuals, specs.
• Lead meetings and presentations with Navy and suppliers.
• Manage project activities and customer communications (NAVY).
• Provide construction engineering support on site at shipyards.

Education

Bachelor of science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, Civil, or Engineering

5+ years postgraduate engineering experience
