Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking Subcontract Buyers to coordinate and execute procurement for submarine programs at our Groton, CT site. You will work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, timely delivery while complying with FAR/DFAR, ITAR, and company procedures.

Role involves sourcing technical requirements, supplier evaluation, contract language, and cross-functional collaboration to drive quality and on-time milestones in a high-security defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or equivalent with 0–5 years of experience.
• Ability to travel by plane to supplier facilities as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Source highly technical requirements to ensure on-time, high-quality material/services delivery.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions to achieve best value for program.
• Prepare clear contracts and supplements with defined provisions.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR, ITAR, and related regulations.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and monitor milestones across multiple suppliers.
