Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the VIRGINIA Class program at NAVSEA. You will identify and implement improvements to accelerate production, safety and efficiency on submarine construction.

Applicants should have a DoW Secret clearance, a engineering degree, and at least five years' submarine construction experience. Travel up to 10% and collaboration across engineering, production and quality teams are required.

Qualifications

Active U.S. DoW Secret security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of submarine construction experience.
Proficient in MS Suite products, to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and some travel to the DC area may be required.

Responsibilities

Gain an understanding of why it takes so long for the shipbuilder to construct submarines.
Analyze submarine construction processes.
Identify inefficiencies, evaluate production barriers.
Find areas of inefficiencies in submarine construction and make recommendations for improvements.
Lead and manage improvement projects from conception to completion with cross-functional coordination.
