Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the VIRGINIA Class program at NAVSEA. You will identify and implement improvements to accelerate production, safety and efficiency on submarine construction.

Applicants should have a DoW Secret clearance, a engineering degree, and at least five years' submarine construction experience. Travel up to 10% and collaboration across engineering, production and quality teams are required.

Qualifications

  • Active U.S. DoW Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of submarine construction experience.
  • Proficient in MS Suite products, to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and some travel to the DC area may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of why it takes so long for the shipbuilder to construct submarines.
  • Analyze submarine construction processes.
  • Identify inefficiencies, evaluate production barriers.
  • Find areas of inefficiencies in submarine construction and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead and manage improvement projects from conception to completion with cross-functional coordination.
