Job summary

Serco seeks a Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the VIRGINIA Class submarine program from the Washington Navy Yard area. You will identify and implement improvements to speed production, enhance safety, and drive efficiency across shipbuilding processes.

Ideal candidates bring engineering/analytical background, 5+ years in submarine construction, and strong data-analysis skills to enable data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration with Navy

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of submarine construction or shipbuilding experience.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze submarine construction processes to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement improvements to accelerate production and safety.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver process change on schedule and within budget.
  • Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality assurance departments.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste and cycle times.
  • Manage projects from concept through completion with defined scope and outcomes.
  • Communicate changes effectively to all levels of staff and stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 10% and support Navy/Submarine program offices as needed.
