Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to support the US Navy’s VIRGINIA Class Submarine program. The role is based around PMS450 at the Washington Navy Yard with opportunities to influence design reviews and acoustic optimization.

You will liaison with NAVSEA and PMS450 stakeholders, manage technical issues, and lead briefings on cost, schedule, and performance. A Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years’ experience and an active security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, physics, or a technical field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; able to brief senior leaders and influence program milestones.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Support PMS450 evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements.
  • Review technical submittals and provide assessments with inputs from stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in technical discussions and reviews with NAVSEA and customer teams.
  • Coordinate with PMS450 team members and NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders.
  • Serve as a primary customer contact and provide status updates on projects.
  • Lead program review sessions discussing cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Provide acquisition management planning and execution support.
  • Contribute to NAVSEA Ship’s Silencing Working Group and related audits.
