General Dynamics Electric Boat invites qualified students to join the Quonset Point Facilities Engineering team for a Summer Internship. You will participate in diverse engineering activities, supported by senior staff, and contribute to projects involved in submarine facilities and systems.

Selected interns gain hands-on experience across capital projects, preventive maintenance, field studies, and documentation work, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability in a dynamic shipyard

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• At minimum, students must have completed their Freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027.
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or equivalent

Responsabilidades

• Conduct engineering analyses for infrastructure expansion projects (e.g., gas or power feeds for buildings).
• Oversee vendors performing preventative and predictive maintenance at the facility.
• Manage repairs of systems and equipment through a vended workforce.
• Scope, plan, and execute capital projects to support facility buildings and systems.
• Support department engineers with field studies and verification of field conditions.
• Assemble engineering documentation to support project work.
• Respond to emergent situations and provide engineering solutions to return operations to normal status.
