Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Mechanical Test Technician for the Shipyard Test Organization on the second shift at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. You will perform acceptance testing on submarine hardware and assist in hydrostatic tests, cleanliness checks, valve operation and calibration.

The role requires teamwork, strong technical communication, and hands-on troubleshooting, with potential security clearance. Training and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED OR 2 years related technical experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a mechanical, piping or structural field.
• Able to work in confined spaces and in areas that are not climate controlled.
• Basic math skills including percentages, decimals and division.
• Strong reading comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated aptitude for teamwork on testing projects.
• Ability to communicate and understand technical language with team members.
• Troubleshooting test setups and documenting results with a positive attitude.
• Record test results and document UNSAT conditions.
