Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems (NPES) Engineer to support U.S. Navy submarine operations and advanced undersea warfare systems. The role suits former Navy Fire Control Technician or Fire Controlman with hands-on submarine experience.

You will apply fleet experience to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and evaluate fire control and combat systems, coordinating with Navy personnel, engineers, and program managers to keep systems operational and mission-ready.

Qualifications

  • U.S. DoW Secret security clearance eligibility.
  • Navy FT/FC experience or equivalent on submarine systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ DoW/Armed Services experience.
  • Experience with Navy fire control, combat control, weapons control, or related systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational expertise on Navy submarine fire control, combat control, and associated weapons systems.
  • Support operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of fire control and combat system equipment.
  • Analyze system performance and help identify, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and integration issues.
  • Provide SME on submarine tactical systems, fire control processes, weapons employment, and procedures.
  • Support system integration, verification, validation, and Test & Evaluation activities.
  • Review technical documentation, system requirements, engineering specs, test procedures, and configuration documentation.
  • Assist with development and execution of test plans, procedures, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  • Support configuration management and ensure documentation reflects baselines and changes.
  • Coordinate with Navy operators, engineers, government stakeholders, and industry partners to resolve issues.
  • Translate operational requirements and fleet feedback into clear technical requirements and recommendations.
  • Support technical reviews, working groups, program meetings, and customer engagements.
  • Prepare technical reports, briefings, presentations, and program documentation.
  • Provide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Maintain understanding of Navy policies, safety requirements, and security protocols.
