Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Plater / Fabricator for submarine refit projects in the UK. You will fabricate, assemble and fit structural steel components from engineering drawings, using oxy-fuel and plasma equipment, and work closely with welders and inspectors to ensure quality under strict safety rules.

The role requires experience in marine or naval fabrication, working with high-grade steels and a willingness to obtain SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in submarine or warship refit programmes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience with heavy structural steelwork and marine fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble and install structural steel components per drawings and specs.
• Mark out and prepare steel plate and sections using oxy-fuel and plasma equipment.
• Carry out repairs and alterations to submarine hull structures and internal steelwork.
• Ensure fit-up and alignment within tolerances in restricted-access areas.
• Work with welders and fitters to meet production schedules.
• Follow safety requirements including confined-space and hot-work controls.
• Inspect work and support non-destructive testing where required.
• Assist in resolving fabrication challenges to improve workflow.
