Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking skilled Manufacturing Technician - Electrical for Kings Bay, GA, to support maintenance and modernization of submarine electrical systems. The role requires work in shipboard and shop environments with a focus on safety and precision.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of NAVSEA drawings, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team under TGIs, with readiness to travel and obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year shipyard or Navy involvement with repair, installation and/or testing of ships systems and components.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
• Available for travel to offsite facilities up to 11 months per assignment.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Installation and removal of cables in cableways in open and tight spaces.
• Reading and understanding electrical drawings and diagrams, and installing/removing cables, power panels and transformers.
• Working within a team environment to meet quality benchmarks and schedule performance.
• Handling a wide variety of electrical components, including standard wiring and fiber.
• Maintaining first-time quality and attention to detail.
• Using power and hand tools and electrical test equipment as required.
• Climbing ladders to access submarines and perform assigned tasks.
