Subcontracts Manager - Power

Play an integral role in shaping how critical power generation projects are commercially structured, executed, and delivered. You operate at the intersection of procurement, contracting, and project execution—ensuring that agreements are robust, risks are managed, and delivery is aligned with customer and organizational objectives. This is a role where commercial discipline directly impacts project outcomes, enabling safe, efficient, and predictable delivery across complex EPC environments.

Purpose of the role

Play an integral role in leading procurement contracts activities across power generation projects, including simple‑cycle and combined cycle environments. You will provide direction across the contract lifecycle—from strategy and negotiation through execution and closeout—ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual obligations, and Worley's operational and commercial standards.

Responsibilities

You will lead contract strategy and execution while supporting project teams in delivering commercially sound and operationally effective outcomes. Core accountabilities include:

  • Managing procurement contracts activities for power projects, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and performance objectives
  • Developing and implementing contract strategies that balance commercial value, risk mitigation, and operational requirements
  • Leading the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts for construction, engineering, and specialty services
  • Supporting contractor selection processes, including evaluating suppliers and aligning capabilities with project needs
  • Managing the full lifecycle of contracts, including post-award administration, change management, and claims mitigation
  • Identifying and tracking contractual risks, ensuring that deviations and scope changes are properly documented and communicated
  • Collaborating closely with project management, engineering, construction, supply chain, and legal teams to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Providing clear guidance to project teams on contract interpretation, commercial implications, and compliance requirements
  • Monitoring contractor performance to ensure contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery milestones are achieved
  • Supporting dispute resolution and claims defense activities through structured analysis and stakeholder engagement
  • Leading and guiding procurement contracts personnel where applicable, ensuring alignment with team objectives and performance expectations
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of contract management systems, processes, and tools
What you'll bring to the role
  • A degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline—or equivalent relevant experience
  • Typically 7+ years of experience in procurement, contracts management, or project delivery within energy, infrastructure, or EPC environments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing procurement contracts for simple-cycle and/or combined cycle power construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of contract structures, commercial terms, and procurement processes across construction and engineering scopes
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage commercial risk in dynamic project environments
  • Experience administering contracts post-award, including managing changes, variations, and contractor performance
  • Solid understanding of project execution models and how procurement contracts integrate with engineering and construction delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex commercial and contractual scenarios
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and present to project teams and leadership
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and align diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working with contract management systems, tools, and processes, with the ability to support improvements and troubleshooting
