Job summary

MasTec Renewables, a leader in solar and wind construction, seeks a Project Subcontracts Specialist to manage subcontracting on utility-scale projects. You will serve as the on-site commercial contact, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, changes, and risk controls while coordinating with project teams.

Role can be remote or office-based with 50% travel; you will work across MasTec Renewables' family of companies, supporting performance, safety, and schedule adherence through

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years administering construction subcontracts on large industrial, energy, or EPC projects.
• 3+ years field-based or site contract/subcontract management experience.
• Experience with subcontract negotiations, change management, claims, and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Administer subcontract agreements for utility-scale solar or wind projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Act as the on-site commercial representative for subcontractors and coordinate with project teams.
• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, scope, schedule milestones, and terms.
• Identify risks and propose strategies to mitigate threats and maximize opportunities.
• Draft, review, and issue notices related to performance, delays, scope changes, and disputes.
• Lead subcontract change order processes including pricing reviews and approvals.
• Track performance, earned value, contract balances, changes, and claims.
• Lead commercial meetings to review contract compliance and risk actions.
• Support dispute resolution and negotiations involving schedule and productivity impacts.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Legal, and Project Controls for consistent practices.
• Assist in closeout activities including final accounts and lien releases.
