Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems in Massachusetts is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator to join our integrated supply chain team. You will develop subcontract specifications, statements of work, terms and conditions for procurements across multiple contract types and negotiate agreements with suppliers and government customers.

Responsibilities include administering subcontracts, preparing bid packages, evaluating proposals, and monitoring performance on government contracts while ensuring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; 2+ years subcontracts experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting processes.
  • Experience with contract types (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, IDIQ).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of subcontract administration duties including flow downs, change management, inspection and close-out.

Responsibilities

  • Develop subcontract specifications, SOWs, and terms for procurements supporting multiple contract types.
  • Administer and negotiate subcontracts, prepare bid packages, analyze costs/prices.
  • Select or recommend subcontractors; evaluate proposals and monitor performance on government contracts.
  • Prepare subcontract documents and coordinate modifications as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with government requirements and company policy.

Job Summary

We're gowing! Our integrated supply chain team has a newly created Subcontracts Administrator role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop subcontract specifications, requirements, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of materials and services in support of multiple contract types.
  • Responsibilities include the following: administration and negotiation of subcontracts, preparation of bid packages, price analysis, and proposal support activities
  • Select or recommend subcontractors
  • Evaluate proposals and monitor company performance on subcontract obligations.
  • Prepare contractual documents, including the preparation of subcontract terms and conditions, and assemble subcontract documentation package
  • Coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts
  • Negotiate and administer agreements between the company/customers/subcontractors/vendors ensuring adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements
  • Monitor subcontract performance on government contracts
  • Respond to standard inquiries regarding subcontract obligations and revisions
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend DRS’ mission, values and culture
  • Maintain effective internal and external customer relations
  • Perform special projects as requested
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with 2+ years related experience as a subcontracts administrator; 1-3 years as buyer.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
  • Basic understanding of contract/purchase order terms and conditions and detailed knowledge of the government contracting process including sole source and competitive procurements
  • Knowledge of the terms and conditions appropriate for different contract types (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, IDIQ, etc.) and their proper use
  • Knowledge of source selection/evaluation process including cost and price analysis
  • Knowledge of requirements for administration of government property
  • Knowledge of government subcontract administration duties including subcontract flow downs, change management, inspection, acceptance, payment, warranty, close-out and records retention
  • Knowledge of proper drafting, negotiation and use of subcontracts, POs, teaming and other forms of agreements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of subcontract/agreement briefings, negotiation and review
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring contracts/subcontracts
  • General computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

U.S. Citizenship required.

The salary range for this position is $66,049-$94,450. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
