Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, SCMP are assets.
  • Familiarity with contractor management platforms (Avetta, ISNetworld, Veriforce).
  • Knowledge of procurement and subcontracting practices.

  • Maintain approved subcontractor and supplier databases.
  • Identify qualified subcontractors for project execution.

The Subcontractor Management Specialist plays a critical role in supporting project and operational teams through the qualification, onboarding, and ongoing management of subcontractors and suppliers. This role is responsible for ensuring subcontractors meet all commercial, insurance, and contractor compliance requirements prior to engagement while supporting the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle. Working closely with Operations, EHS, Finance, and subcontractor partners, the specialist helps drive efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement processes while maintaining strong contractor relationships and supporting successful project execution.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Coordinate subcontractor qualification and onboarding activities.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of approved subcontractor and supplier databases.
  • Assist Operations in identifying and engaging qualified subcontractors for project execution.
  • Create purchase orders in SAP, confirm purchase order aligns with subcontract agreement, ensuring terms and conditions align with the subcontract.
  • Ensure subcontractors remain compliant with company policies, EHS requirements, contractual obligations, and project standards.
  • Manage the lifecycle of the purchase order, including completing goods receipts in SAP.
  • Track subcontractor performance, compliance metrics, and qualification status.
  • Support the resolution of contractor compliance, onboarding, and payment-related issues.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, SCMP, or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with contractor management systems such as Avetta, ISNetworld, Veriforce, or similar platforms is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of construction procurement and subcontracting practices.
