Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is hiring a Procurement Specialist in Jackson, SC to manage all purchasing activities and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

You will interface between offices and field teams, use SAP for order placement, and maintain vendor relationships to support nuclear and construction projects. Applicants should have at least two years in construction procurement, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with SAP and Office tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to satisfy demand placed on the system on time.
  • Create purchase orders in SAP, confirm quantities and pricing with vendors.
  • Adherence to Aecon preferred supplier sourcing footprint.
  • Drive toward a zero exception procure-to-pay process.
  • Resolve price, delivery, and account-related exceptions in real time.
  • Maintain and verify packing slips and material master data.
  • Track rental equipment and tooling, close open commitments.
  • Generate Vendor Corrective Measures when required.
  • Perform other procurement administrative duties as required.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for all purchasing related activities and for ensuring the delivery of materials/ services to the site occurs on time, at the right price the first time. This person will also ensure the timely receipt of goods in SAP, as well as tracking deliveries and return of rental equipment. This position acts as a liaison between offices and field workers and must possess strong knowledge of procurement policies and procedures.

Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S . federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Accountable to satisfy demand placed on the system on time.
  • Create purchase orders in SAP, confirm purchase quantities and pricing with vendor.
  • Adherence to Aecon preferred supplier sourcing footprint.
  • Accountable for driving toward a zero exception procure to pay process.
  • Real time resolution of price, delivery, account assignment, material and service related exceptions.
  • Increase the use and refinement of Aecon’s material master data Ensure that all packing slips have beenverified for all pertinent information.
  • Track all rental equipment and tooling.
  • Clear open commitments and close.
  • Purchase orders as required.
  • Maintains and organizes all related filing systems.
  • Generate Vendor Corrective Measures when required.
  • Other procurement administrative duties as required.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in construction industry, experience in procurement favourable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising judgment and initiative and involves multi-tasking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to forge relationships both internally within different Aecon departments and externally withsuppliers.
  • Technical understanding of SAP and the procure to pay process Intermediate to Advance level of MicrosoftOutlook, Word, Excel Understanding of “total cost” concepts.
  • Ability to work with others as a member of a team.
  • Independent thinker capable of taking initiative and finding solutions for challenge.
