Job summary

Sundt Construction, a 100% employee-owned contractor in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Subcontract Manager to lead the full lifecycle of subcontractor relationships, from prequalification through closeout, aligning with schedule, quality, safety, and financial goals.

You will mentor teams, manage contracts and change orders, and collaborate with project managers, procurement, legal, and accounting to optimize performance while upholding company policies and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in subcontract management, contract administration, construction management, procurement, or related field.
• Ability to mentor and guide others in subcontractor management.
• Familiarity with construction regulations, insurance requirements, bonding, and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with subcontract negotiations and procurement strategies for new projects.
• Conduct regular subcontractor performance reviews and address performance issues promptly.
• Coordinate subcontractor onboarding, prequalification, insurance, bonding, licensing, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, applicable laws, and project requirements.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead subcontract closeout activities, including final payments, releases, warranties, and documentation.
