Job summary

International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington, DC, is seeking a Subawards Specialist to manage subaward life cycle, drafting agreements, and ensuring donor compliance. The role collaborates with program, finance, procurement, and partners, and requires in-office work at least three days per week in DC.

The position emphasizes timely processing of subawards, risk reviews, and proactive problem-solving to support accurate payments and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible subaward/grant administration experience.
• Knowledge of subaward administration and 2 CFR 200 requirements.
• Experience reviewing budgets, financial reports, invoices, and payments for accuracy.
• Ability to interpret and apply donor requirements and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subaward focal point, manage submission, review, and processing of subaward packages.
• Draft subaward agreements and modifications using approved templates.
• Monitor compliance with donor requirements, policies, and regulations.
• Review invoicing, reports, and payment documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with internal teams and subrecipients to resolve documentation gaps.
