Job summary

International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington, DC is seeking an Events and Organizational Initiatives Specialist to manage end-to-end event coordination, communications, and vendor relations across IRI programs globally.

The role reports to the Senior Manager for External Engagement and Development, and requires 3+ years of in-person and virtual events experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and event platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience directly assisting with in-person and virtual events of all sizes with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
• Experience organizing events including coordinating staff, volunteers, vendors, and others contributing to the execution of events.
• Strong time management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist with all aspects of organizing and implementing all types of events and meetings.
• Manage the IRI events calendar.
• Draft and send invitations and track responses and assist with outbound communications to external audiences.
• Coordinate with staff, event co-hosts, sponsors, and partners on venue requirements, tech, branding, invitations, and registrations.
• Develop event materials, checklists, run of shows, and staffing plans.
• Coordinate room setup and breakdown for events and meetings.
