Job summary

International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington, DC seeks a Project Specialist for the Project Delivery Team. This hybrid role requires coordinating with regional programs to support project delivery and ensure successful implementation.

The candidate will monitor budgets, ensure grant compliance, and help produce high-quality reports for funders. Occasional travel and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, international relations, or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in project implementation or administrative coordination.
• Experience with USG-funded projects and familiarity with USG regulations.
• Strong organizational, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Supports and oversees implementation of specific projects and activities under supervision.
• Leads project kick-off and setup processes with PDT/region teams.
• Monitors funder policies, grants compliance, and financial procedures.
• Ensures alignment with grants’ substantive, financial, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinates travel, logistics, venue selection, and participant communication.
• Monitors budgets and project expenditures and flags issues.
• Supports monitoring and evaluation efforts for grants.
• Assists in developing high-quality quarterly, semi-annual, and final funder reports.
• Assists with proposal package development and related documentation.
• Oversees workloads of Project Associate as assigned.
• Anticipates problems and offers solutions.
• Travels as needed for program oversight and implementation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
