This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, supporting manufacturing and supply chain across all facilities.

As part of a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will provide support to Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing by performing activities such as design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems, circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, or specialized test equipment. Applications include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems. You will work from schematics, diagrams, and plans to perform testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation, assisting in designing, constructing, and testing equipment using tools like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test apparatus.

  • This position requires shift flexibility to meet business needs. Shift schedule:
  • B Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Precision assembly of rocket engine components: combustion devices, valves, turbomachinery, avionics, test equipment
  • Root cause analysis, disassembly, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Hydraulic and leak testing (Nitrogen and Helium)
  • Preparation for environmental testing and structural hydro proof testing
  • Detailed inspection to tolerances of 0.0001in
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards (oxygen compatibility)
  • Supporting design, procurement, installation, and integration of manufacturing and test equipment
  • Managing inventory of tooling and equipment
  • Working safely with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure operations
  • Preparing hardware for testing, qualification, and flight
  • Developing and deploying manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce costs, and optimize schedules
  • Supporting DFMA and PFMEA studies
  • Developing manufacturing work instructions for various processes
  • Identifying non-conformances and supporting corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in valve, turbomachinery, or engine assembly
  • Mastery of precision, tight tolerance assembly
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience developing new processes
  • Strong skills in CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, and MS Office suite
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Ability to build trust and contribute to an inclusive culture
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. (citizen, Green Card, refugee, asylum)
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs., and work flexible hours including overtime and weekends
  • Willingness to travel for 6-12 months for training
