Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Sub Transmission Planning during the Summer 2027 term in Columbus, Nebraska. The intern will work with experienced staff in the Distribution and Sub Transmission Engineering Department on May–August 2027.

Qualified candidates are electrical engineering students pursuing a degree, typically finishing their sophomore year. Travel up to 25% and a housing stipend are part of the program, with a competitive hourly

Responsibilities

• Evaluate impact of customer-owned generation sites and proposed loads.
• Use Synergi to evaluate system limits and power quality.
• Provide system upgrade and protection recommendations with teams.
• Enhance existing tools and present modelled results to customers.
