Job summary

Skyeton Inc. is seeking a Sub Assembly Test Technician for inspection, functional testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electromechanical subassemblies used in Skyeton unmanned aircraft systems.

You will work from drawings, procedures, and quality requirements to verify assemblies meet performance and workmanship standards before release to production. Responsibilities include setting up tests, inspecting workmanship and conformance to specs, recording results, and communicating issues

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certificate preferred.
• At least one year in manufacturing assembly, production testing, electronics testing, or quality inspection preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical principles and safe use of common electronic test equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use precision hand tools and measuring devices correctly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions.

Job description

The Sub Assembly Test Technician performs inspection, functional testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electromechanical and mechanical subassemblies used inSkyetonunmannedaircraftsystems. This role works from approved drawings, work instructions, test procedures, and quality requirements to verify that assemblies meet defined performance and workmanship standards beforereleaseto the next stage of production.

What you'll do

• Set up and perform functional, electrical, mechanical, and continuity tests on assigned subassemblies using approved procedures and test equipment.
• Inspect assemblies for workmanship, configuration, component placement, torque, fit, finish, labeling, and conformance to drawings and specifications.
• Operate digital multimeters, power supplies, test fixtures, hand tools, torque tools, and other production test equipment appropriate to the work assigned.
• Record test results accurately in travelers, inspection records, production systems, or other controlled documentation; maintain full material and configuration traceability.
• Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material; promptly communicate failures, trends, and production concerns to Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.
• Perform systematic first-level troubleshooting to isolate faults in wiring, connectors, sensors, motors, circuit assemblies, hardware, or mechanical interfaces.
• Support approved rework, repair, and retest activities in accordance with written instructions and authorized dispositions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, specifications, and work instructions.
• Maintain calibrated-tool awareness and verify that test equipment is within its calibration period before use.
• Follow electrostatic-discharge controls, foreign-object-debris prevention practices, tool control, material handling requirements, and clean-work-area standards.
• Participate in continuous-improvement activities involving safety, quality, cycle time, test repeatability, and defect reduction.
• Assist with test-fixture validation, process trials, first-article activities, and production readiness efforts as assigned.
• Comply with all Skyeton safety, quality, security, confidentiality, and export-control requirements.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, military technical training, or associate degree in electronics, mechatronics, aviation maintenance, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience in manufacturing assembly, production testing, electronics testing, quality inspection, aviation maintenance, or a comparable technical environment preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical principles and safe use of common electronic test equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use precision hand tools and measuring devices correctly.
• Ability to document results clearly, follow controlled processes, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and navigate electronic work instructions or manufacturing systems.
• Effective communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defense, unmanned aircraft systems, electronics, automotive, medical-device, or other regulated manufacturing.
• Experience testing cable harnesses, avionics, motors, actuators, sensors, printed circuit assemblies, or electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, AS9100, ESD controls, or similar workmanship and quality standards.
• Experience with manufacturing execution systems, quality-management systems, or digital test-data collection.
• Soldering or cable-harness assembly certification is a plus.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or approved lifting equipment.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb step stools, and work at benches or production stations as required.
• Visual acuity, including near vision and color differentiation, sufficient to inspect components, wiring, indicators, and documentation, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment where safety glasses, ESD protection, hearing protection, or other personal protective equipment may be required.
• Flexibility to work overtime or alternate schedules based on production needs.
