Job summary

Skyeton in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering drawings and BOMs into precise work instructions for UAS components. The role focuses on optimizing factory flow and reducing build times while ensuring manufacturability in collaboration with design engineers.

You will work in an ISO 9001/AS9100 environment, support QA/QC, and help scale production for DoW contracts. Strong attention to detail, cross-functional communication, and a background in aerospace

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, cable drawings, and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering drawings and BOMs into detailed manufacturing work instructions.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements to reduce build time.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure quality for warfighter products.
  • Develop and maintain ISO 9001/AS9100 compliant manufacturing documents.
  • Work with design engineering to ensure manufacturability.
  • Identify tooling, fixturing, and processes to scale production.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate engineering technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) into digestible, detailed work instructions for manufacturing UAS components.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements focused on factory flow optimization and reduced build time.
  • Work closely with QA/QC to deliver consistent, quality products to warfighters.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation in compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new and existing products.
  • Identify and implement tooling, fixturing, and process solutions to support production scaling.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for manufacturing non-conformances.
Required Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or defense industries.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering technical drawings and BOMs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, cable drawings, mechanical part and assembly drawings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) manufacturing.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 certified manufacturing facility.
  • Experience working on Department of War (DoW) contracts.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Altium or Solidworks
  • Strong background in one or multiple of the following: composite manufacturing, machining, cable and pcb manufacturing, mechanical assembly
  • J-STD-001 soldering certified

Work Environment
  • In office
  • Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with core hours of 9 am to 3 pm
  • Up to 10% travel needed to CONUS and OCONUS production facilities and suppliers
