Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2027 Software Engineer - Intern. You will join a cross-functional team to design, develop, integrate and deploy software and firmware for tactical sUAS and related accessories.

You will contribute to testing, documentation, and peer reviews, applying theory to development processes and troubleshooting complex issues. A can-do attitude and teamwork are essential as you build an excellent product.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Computer Engineering/Computer Science degree or related field.
• Experience with C, C++, Java, Bash, or Python programming.
• Experience with sUAS or RC aircraft.
• Experience with ArduPilot or PX4 flight stacks.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Experience with Mavlink protocol.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and deploy software/firmware for sUAS and related accessories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure quality and reliability.
• Participate in peer reviews and documentation; troubleshoot complex software issues.
