Job summary

Talbots in New Hartford, NY is hiring for a part-time sales associate to deliver an exceptional customer experience and to help build brand relationships through fashion expertise.

You will support the management team, stay current on fashion trends, create outfit recommendations, and contribute to achieving sales metrics. The role requires standing, occasional ladder use, and lifting up to 40 lbs, with availability including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise.
• Strong ambition and passion for achieving goals.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and integrity.
• Ability to navigate a computer/iPad/handheld system.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Open availability for 15–20 hours per week.
• Comfortable standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Assist management to build store business and utilize Concierge services.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multitask and handle projects.
• Stay informed on fashion trends and new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit and color.
• Create outfits for customers and suggest additional items to match needs.
• Aim to meet sales and service metrics through clientelling and outreach.
• Complete operational tasks such as filling orders, replenishment, and recovery.
