Job summary

BMCC in New York invites applications for a Global Initiatives Events Coordinator who will promote study abroad opportunities through workshops, sessions, and campus-wide campaigns. You will organize events, create marketing materials, and manage the study abroad website and social media pages.

The role supports faculty training, coordinates with the ISSO and Office of Global Initiatives, and leads student pre-departure and re-entry orientations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in study abroad coordination preferred.
• Strong planning and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with Canva, Wordpress, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and promote study abroad programs through workshops, sessions, and social media campaigns.
• Organize study abroad events such as information sessions, pre-departure orientations, fairs, and week programming.
• Create and distribute marketing materials to raise awareness of opportunities.
• Update study abroad details on office websites and social media.
• Assist with faculty training workshops on program development and risk management.
• Identify safety issues affecting BMCC operations globally.
• Assist with assessment, surveys, and data collection for programs.
• Support scholarship workshops and student applications (Gilman, FEA, CLS).
• Monitor program budgets and coordinate with financial offices for billing.
• Promote COIL and assist faculty to enable global learning opportunities.
• Guide students through the study abroad process (application, financial aid, pre-departure).
• Provide administrative support to ISSO and Office of Global Initiatives; handle special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
