Job summary

Vassar College seeks a full-time, entry-level Study Abroad Advisor within the Office of International Programs to administer education abroad applications and enrollment, and to support students from pre-departure through re-entry. The Advisor collaborates with campus and off-campus partners to promote access, inclusion, and belonging in study abroad experiences.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the role oversees advising on scholarships, communications, and program evaluations, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Intercultural training, cross-cultural experience, and/or living abroad.
• Demonstrated motivation to enhance inclusion in education abroad or related settings.
• Ability to advise diverse students on transitions and new environments.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite; ability to travel domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth study abroad advising aligned with degree plans and learning goals.
• Maintain knowledge of OIP portfolio and partnerships (Vassar-approved programs).
• Lead advising on study abroad scholarships.
• Lead programming from study abroad promotion to re-entry.
• Support the Associate Director with application management.
• Assist with communications to students and pre-departure/while abroad newsletters.
• Assist program evaluation collection and analysis.
• Maintain relationships with program providers for day-to-day communications.
• Participate in international education conferences and site visits as needed.
• Stay up-to-date on innovative study abroad engagement practices.
