Job summary

Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts seeks a Study Abroad Advisor to support students pursuing off‑campus study for Brandeis degree credit. The role blends advising, program administration, event coordination, and supervision of student employees within the Office of Study Abroad.

The advisor partners with students before, during, and after international experiences, manages affiliate processes, outreach, and promotional sessions with campus offices and departments.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree required; an M.A./M.S. preferred.
• Experience in higher education or international programs is desirable.
• Experience living, studying, or working in foreign countries is valued.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on off‑campus study programs for Brandeis degree credit from 200+ programs in 50 countries.
• Conduct in‑person and virtual advising appointments and information sessions.
• Assist with applications, transfer credit, health and safety concerns, and policies before and during study abroad.
• Respond to student health, safety, and support needs while abroad.
• Oversee affiliate program deadlines and requirements, including evaluations and processing.
• Manage Office of Study Abroad social media and outreach efforts.
• Design and participate in promotional sessions with university offices and groups.
• Organize large events like I Love Study Abroad Week.
• Supervise 10‑14 student employees in the Study Abroad Ambassador program.
