Job summary

The Boys’ Club of New York Inc. seeks a Teaching Artist to lead Studio/Art classes for boys aged 6–12 at the Bronx location. The teacher will run classes of four to twenty boys, guiding sculpture, painting, illustration and related media with reliability and motivation.

We value experience in youth development or education. An Associate degree or two years related experience is preferred; familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects is a plus.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent required or two years related experience.
• Experience in youth development, education, or afterschool preferred.
• Proficiency with art software is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to urban/diverse youth needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct art activities for groups of 4–20 boys.
• Teach techniques in sculpture, painting, illustration and graphic design.
• Assist with setup and transportation.
• Model health and safety practices.
• Engage students to foster positive interactions.
• Prepare assessments and participate in curriculum review.
• Complete program reports and manage materials.
