Job summary

92NY's Art Center is seeking a Teaching Assistant for its afterschool and weekend visual arts program. You will support lead Teaching Artists and help create a creative, supportive learning environment for children aged 4–17, with classes Sept–Jan and Jan–June.

Hours are typically 4:00pm–5:30pm on weekdays and daytime on weekends; arrive 15 minutes before and stay 15 minutes after class. Per diem compensation is $23/hour.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in visual arts education.
• Or possess a BFA in visual arts.
• Able to commit for the full semester and attend every scheduled class.

Responsibilities

• Support and collaborate with lead Teaching Artists in weekly art classes.
• Foster a creative and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Assist with drop-off and pick-up, distribute supplies, and set up/clean up.
• Opportunities to develop and lead a lesson with mentor Teaching Artist.
