Job summary

Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience.
• Strong understanding of various art mediums.
• Ability to create age-appropriate lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Instruct visual art classes across age ranges and settings.
• Create two after-school art classes per week; monthly senior living class; monthly community class; supervise Open Studio twice a month.
• Prepare engaging lesson plans and manage class time from setup to cleanup.
• Communicate concepts clearly and cultivate creativity and skill in students.
• Maintain knowledge of art history, styles, and current instruction trends.
• Practice good time management and arrive prepared, on time for each session.
• Assist in inventory and ordering of supplies and follow registration procedures.
• Coordinate with the Manager, Director, and Facility team to keep workspace clean and functional.
• Display professionalism and a positive attitude; build relationships with students and colleagues.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to departmental policies; fulfill additional duties as assigned.
