Job summary

Red Carrot is seeking an Audio Technician to join our on-site team in Alexandria, Virginia, supporting a federal government client. You will set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for music, voiceovers, podcasts, and live broadcasts, while collaborating with producers and clients to achieve the desired sound.

The role requires 3+ years in a professional setting, strong knowledge of signal flow, mic techniques, and audio processing, and a commitment to safety and copyright compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a professional recording studio or broadcast environment.
  • Knowledge of EQ, compression, reverb and other effects.
  • Familiarity with microphone types, placement techniques, and recording environments.

Responsibilities

  • Record music, voiceovers, podcasts, and broadcasts.
  • Set up and operate audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, signal processors, and recording software.
  • Monitor audio levels, adjust EQ, and manage signal flow to ensure high-quality sound.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues during production.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports detailing tasks, equipment status, and improvements.
  • Ensure safety protocols and copyright compliance for audio content.
