Job description

Vitality Haus is a movement and wellness studio opening in Asbury Park, NJ in January 2027, offering Yoga, Mat Pilates, Barre, and Strength classes. We're built around intentionality and community, helping members build healthy habits for both body and mind.

We're looking for someone who will help us bring our mission and vision to life — leading our Team Members and owning the member experience, from sales and retention to day-to-day operations.

OUR MISSION

We guide people to reconnect with the wellness already within them, through intentional movement, mindful recovery, and fitness practices that support a balanced, sustainable lifestyle.

OUR VISION

To become the driving force behind a new standard of wellness — one rooted in intentional movement, recovery, and connection.

THE ROLE

The Studio Experience & Sales Director owns the full Vitality Haus experience — for members and the business alike. This role is responsible for:

  • Growth —Owns the studio's full revenue engine for member acquisition — from lead generation and walk-ins to conversion, upsell, and renewal — directly accountable for top-line revenue growth by attracting new members and retaining existing ones.
  • Team Leadership —Leading our Team Members with intention, coaching them to exceed goals and building repeatable sales systems in a fast-paced, member-facing environment, so every Team Member feels supported and set up to deliver best-in-class sessions.
  • Member Experience —Delivering the highest quality of service, a sense of belonging, and a culture that exceeds expectations.
  • Operations & Compliance —Maintaining operational efficiency, brand standards, and full compliance with company and statutory requirements, while reporting regularly to the CEO on pipeline, conversion, and retention performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SALES & RETENTION
  • Own the studio's membership and sales targets — setting, tracking, and remaining accountable to monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas, with full visibility into sales-driven revenue.
  • Drive new member acquisition and grow average revenue per member (ARPM) by maintaining a strong lead-to-member conversion rate and upselling premium packages, retail, and add-ons.
  • Manage the full sales funnel — lead intake, intro session, consultation, close, onboarding, and renewal — presenting, promoting, and selling memberships and services to prospective and existing members.
  • Keep pipeline, lead, loss, and acquisition data accurate and current in our booking system.
  • Own membership retention and churn, maintaining monthly attrition below a set goal — personally calling every member who requests a cancellation, and identifying opportunities to surprise and delight.
  • Deliver weekly sales forecasts and monthly performance reports to the CEO, with variance analysis and corrective action plans.
MEMBER EXPERIENCE
  • Deliver world-class service for every member, every time — building a sense of belonging and a family culture that exceeds expectations and creates a memorable experience for every member.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
  • Build and lead an industry-leading Team, recruiting, hiring, and supporting the training of Instructors and Front Desk Team Members.
  • Set individual and studio-level KPIs (calls made, tours booked, tour-to-close ratio, sales activity), holding Team Members accountable through regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Design and run ongoing sales training, role-play, and objection-handling sessions, enforcing a structured, consistent sales process across the Team.
  • Implement incentive structures, contests, and commission plans that drive the right behaviors, and bring Vitality Haus culture into everything the Team does.
  • Manage the studio schedule and day-to-day line management of Instructors and Front Desk Team Members, ensuring adequate coverage, health and safety compliance, and that every Team Member stays current on required skills, CPDs, and qualifications.
OPERATIONS
  • Manage daily operations across the studio, communicating daily and weekly targets and helping the Team achieve them.
  • Own and optimize the studio's sales pipeline and CRM system, analyzing sales data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities, and presenting findings to the CEO.
  • Execute a pre-sale campaign ahead of opening, with a founding membership sales target of a set goal of members sold before opening day, partnering with the CEO on marketing efforts to convert leads efficiently.
  • Own local outreach and corporate partnership sales to drive group and corporate membership growth.
  • Proactively own all hygiene, maintenance, and health & safety issues — including Risk Assessments, SOPs, and EOPs — ensuring a safe environment and that a competent senior Team Member is always on duty.
  • Comply with all company and member security and data protection policies, seeking CEO guidance as needed and taking on other reasonable requests.
PRE-REQUISITES & ATTRIBUTES
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be strongly considered.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on, high-quality sales and customer service experience across email, phone, and in‑person support.
  • A track record of consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets, and can speak to specific numbers you've owned and delivered.
  • Experience building and managing a sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Comfort with data and CRM/pipeline management — you can build a forecast, read a conversion funnel, and know your numbers cold.
  • A coaching mindset: you lead from the floor, not just the spreadsheet, and can jump in to close a sale or run a tour yourself.
  • Experience building member relationships, defusing difficult situations, and reframing them positively — including the ability to encourage members through hard moments.
  • Passion for fitness/wellness and belief in the member experience as part of the sales process — willing to go the extra mile and set the benchmark for the rest of the Team.
  • Send regular emails to current members and prospects; be a fast learner, willing to quickly pick up new booking and studio management software (training provided).
REMUNERATION
  • Competitive base salary, plus bonus based on achieving set goals
  • PTO
  • Free studio membership
HOURS OF WORK
  • Full‑time
  • Shift patterns vary ahead of opening; shifts to be consistent after opening and include weekends
