Job summary

WS Development’s The Studio group is seeking a Designer to provide in-house design support and contribute to projects ranging from urban mixed-use developments to lifestyle centers nationwide. The Designer will work with Studio and cross-functional teams including Development, Construction, Leasing, and Marketing to deliver design concepts and deliverables.

The role emphasizes fast-paced delivery, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.

Qualifications

• Exceptional design aesthetic and ability to develop design concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience collaborating with architects, engineers, lighting designers, and landscape architects.
• Strong team player with resourcefulness, flexibility and time management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
• 3–6 years of experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling (Sketchup and Revit).
• Work Samples/portfolio required for application.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team on projects from Feasibility through Design and Construction.
• Support Design Architecture and Master Planning needs, developing concepts and studies.
• Review external consultants’ documentation for architecture, landscaping, signage, lighting, FF&E, etc.
• Review tenant build-out documentation including architecture, signage and interiors.
• Create critical documentation for Leasing teams for tenant negotiations.
• Develop brand standards and content for Tenant Design Manuals.
• Collaborate with junior teammates to meet deadlines and goals.
• Assist in daily design tasks: meetings, correspondence, file maintenance, documentation.
