Job summary

NORY in New York, NY is hiring a Maker & Operations Assistant to support behind the scenes. You will prepare materials, organize the central inventory, and assist with local shipments, enabling teachers and campers to deliver STEM projects smoothly.

This part-time role offers 20–25 hours weekly, in-person at 10018, with bi-weekly pay and a starting wage of $17 per hour. Full training provided, no prior experience required.

Qualifications

  • No prior warehouse or fabrication experience is required; training is provided.
  • Must be comfortable learning to operate basic hand and power tools safely.
  • Energetic, personable, empathetic, and passionate about supporting early childhood education.
  • Exceptionally organized, hardworking, and highly efficient at multitasking with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and solid fundamental math skills.
  • Able to lift 20+ lbs regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with navigating NYC neighborhoods for occasional local drop-offs/pick-ups.
  • Baseline artistic creativity or maker hobbies are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Materials & Kit Preparation: Sort, assemble, pack, and prepare enrichment program materials, including arts, crafts, and engineering project kits.
  • Workspace & Office Organization: Maintain a highly organized, safe, and clean central inventory workspace for daily operations.
  • Logistics Support: Assist with counting inventory and preparing localized material shipments or deliveries.

Position Overview: Maker & Operations Assistant

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Maker & Operations Assistant to join our team behind the scenes. This hands-on role is ideal for an ambitious, hardworking individual who wants to support a fast-growing educational company. You will play a vital role in ensuring our teachers and campers have exactly what they need to bring incredible STEM projects to life.

Position Details:

  • Compensation: $17.00 per hour

  • Hours: Part-time, 20–25 hours per week (Flexible hours preferred)

  • Location: New York, NY 10018 (100% In-Person)

  • Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly

  • Benefits: Not applicable (Part-Time/Seasonal)

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Flair (Plus): Baseline artistic creativity or maker hobbies are a great asset to this position.
