Job summary

Scattered Kind, a NYC-based tufting studio, is seeking seasonal, on-call studio assistants to support workshops and general studio operations during busy periods.

This role suits someone with a flexible schedule who enjoys hands-on, studio work and is comfortable being called in as needed, including weekend shifts.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down workshops, preparing materials, assisting instructors and customers, maintaining cleanliness, basic rug finishing, and restocking.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks.
• Willingness to get messy with glue, yarn, and dust.
• Calm and helpful during busy workshops.
• Able to follow studio processes and instructions consistently.
• Must be able to commute reliably to Long Island City.

Scattered Kind is a NYC-based tufting studio offering hands-on rug tufting workshops and producing custom rugs for individuals, brands, and commercial spaces. We’re looking for seasonal, on-call studio assistants to support workshops and studio operations during busy periods.

This role is best suited for someone with a flexible schedule who is comfortable being called in as needed, and who enjoys hands-on, studio-based work.

Role Type

• Seasonal, on-call, part-time
• Shifts scheduled as needed, based on workshop volume
• Weekend availability required (Sat/Sun are our busiest days)
• Ideal for freelancers, students, or those seeking supplemental income
