Job summary

ArcBest is seeking a Student Worker for the Information Center in Fort Smith, AR. You will assist the Information Center team, handle OS update scheduling, troubleshoot patches, and document solutions. The role includes hardware delivery/setup, basic support tasks, and equipment handling across local campuses.

The position is part-time, under 30 hours/week, with daytime hours typically 8am–5pm and occasional irregular hours. Minimal travel is expected, and compensation is hourly and biweekly.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a college degree.
• No prior experience required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist Information Center team with daily duties.

Job Description

The Student Worker, Information Center is responsible for providing assistance to the Information Center team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule upgrades to Microsoft operating systems.
• Troubleshoot failed and missing Microsoft operating system updates and security patches.
• Investigate failed 3rd party security patches and updates.
• Document and share troubleshooting methods and solutions.
• Assist in delivery and setup of computer hardware at multiple Fort Smith, AR campus locations.
• Assist with minor computer support tasks.
• Assist in the process of salvaging computer equipment including documenting salvage items and placement in a shipping container.
• Assist in the process of receiving new and used equipment, including documenting items and transporting them to storage.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Work Hours
