Qualifications

  • Ability to understand technical systems supporting the student worker role.
  • Must live in the local area to report to work on campus in Lynchburg, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of the Dean’s office, Department Chair, or Professor to whom assigned.

  • Attend training sessions as directed by the department.
  • Uphold campus dress code and Code of Conduct.
  • Create and edit PowerPoint, Excel, or Word documents.
  • Track attendance using Top Hat and post in Canvas.
  • Assist in large class settings.
  • Communicate with students via email and Canvas.
  • Assist department with miscellaneous administrative tasks and projects.

Job description

The Student Worker works on campus in an academic and administrative support role for the School of Divinity. These roles can range from assisting the Dean’s office with projects, administrative work, and events to assisting professors in class with grading, communicating with students, and any other classrooms needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Work under the supervision of the Dean’s office, Department Chair, or Professor to whom assigned.
  2. Be present for all necessary events put on by the department.
  3. Attend all training sessions per the department’s direction.
  4. Uphold and follow the campus Dress code and Code of Conduct.
  5. Create and edit any powerpoint, excel, or Word documents.
  6. Track Attendance using tophat and post in canvas
  7. Assisting in large class settings
  8. Communicate through email and canvas with students
  9. Assist the department with miscellaneous administrative tasks/projects and other responsibilities.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
  • Current student in good standing with the university.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand all technical systems supporting the role of a student worker.
  • Must live in the local area to report to work on campus.

Time Type: Part time. Location: Onsite. Pay Rate: Starting at $12.77. Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
