Student Worker - (2026-2027) - PTT
This is a general position open to current SCC students interested in working for SCC on campus at one of the SCC campus locations during the 2026-2027 academic year. Work study eligibility is determined by Financial Aid; lack of eligibility does not automatically disqualify a candidate. Eligible students may be hired either through work study or as a student worker, depending on departmental needs and budget. A resume and cover letter are required to apply.
Essential Functions
- Maintain the confidentiality of student, staff, and institutional information in compliance with FERPA and College policies.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Safeguard records, files, and communications that contain confidential or proprietary information.

Marginal Functions
- May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required.
- Perform other College functions and duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College and may vary. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Demonstrated integrity in handling confidential information.
- Commitment to upholding FERPA and College confidentiality standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone.
- Ability to use basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.
- The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current SCC student.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with College policies and FERPA regulations.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, internet navigation).
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and peers in a professional environment.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: $15.53 per hour.
Student positions are not eligible for benefits.
