Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Student Welder to interpret blueprints, job cards, bill of materials, and routings sheets. The Welder must handle variations in customized orders and work within precise limits, performing bench, MIG, and TIG welding of aluminum and steel.

You will set up and weld various components, read blueprints, use small hand tools, and maintain a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more related experience
• Proficient in MIG welding on steel and aluminum as demonstrated by on-site weld skill test
• Ability to read blueprints
• Demonstrated experience using various small and pneumatic hand tools

Responsibilities

• Setup and assemble various components for welding
• Setup machine for welding
• Weld aluminum components (bench, MIG, TIG)
• Weld steel components (bench, MIG, TIG)
• Grind welds
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
• Regular attendance required
• All other duties and responsibilities as reassigned
