Job summary

St. Louis Community College in Bridgeton, MO, seeks an Associate for the Welcome Center/Student Experience. You will be the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors across in person, phone, email, and chat channels, guiding them to the right campus resources.

You will collaborate with Admissions, Enrollment Services, and Advising to ensure smooth handoffs and timely responses, using CRM, chatbot tools, and knowledge bases to support student success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service in a high-contact, public-facing role.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
• Experience volunteering in student leadership in a college/university setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Banner, CRM tools, and chat/text platforms preferred.
• Bilingual/multilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a friendly and informed first point of contact for students, families, and visitors.
• Assist with general questions about admissions, registration, financial aid, testing, advising, and campus resources; refer to subject matter experts as needed.
• Use phone, email, live chat, texting platforms, and AI tools to respond to inquiries and route them appropriately.
• Maintain a warm, inclusive environment that affirms belonging for all students.
• Utilize CRM, chatbot, queue management systems, and knowledge bases to deliver timely, accurate service.
• Track and document student interactions and concerns for follow-up.
• Monitor trends and share feedback with campus leadership to enhance the student experience.
• Collaborate with peers and supervisor to ensure exceptional Welcome Desk services.
• Work with Student Affairs departments to ensure seamless handoffs and referrals.
