Job summary

Weber State University is seeking a Web/Application Developer for the Computer Literacy Center (CLC) to design, develop, and maintain online learning modules and web projects. You will collaborate with product owners, faculty, and students to deliver effective modules and web solutions.

Position Summary

The Web/Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain web and application solutions for the Computer Literacy Center (CLC), collaborating closely with product owners, faculty, and students to deliver effective online learning modules and web projects.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the product owner to understand the requirements and scope of the project.
  • Write frontend and backend JavaScript code that implements the functionality requested by the client.
  • Work in a collaborative setting with developers and professors to discover solutions to unique problems.
  • Research documentation and implement third‑party libraries.
  • Apply programming fundamentals to current projects.
  • Assist Supervisor or CLC Director as needed.
  • Learn to create online learning modules for the Computer Literacy Center.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Familiarity with programming, especially in JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clients, co‑workers, and supervisors.
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) like Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, or WordPress.
  • Good communication and customer‑service skills demonstrated through work or volunteer experiences.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with APIs.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience working with the Document Object Model (DOM).
  • Experience working with a GUI.
  • Familiarity with user experience and accessibility considerations.
  • Priority for Weber State University undergraduate students.
  • Work‑study status preferred.
