Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University.
• Prior medical office experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes clients to the hospital and registers their animals in need of medical attention.
• Verifies client information and referring veterinarian.
• Gathers records from other facilities and compiles the physical medical record; alerts clinical personnel of arrival.
• Directs clients within the clinic for animal care and ensures the visit proceeds smoothly.
• Receives and screens telephone calls, including scheduling appointments.
• Provides information on clinic procedures and processes to callers/visitors.
• Determines appropriate course of action, referrals, or responses.
• Contacts clients to confirm appointments and provides needed information prior to care.
• Communicates admissions information, fees, discharge dates, clinic regulations, or other services.
• Discharges clients timely and appropriately and ensures all bill orders are verified.
• Assists clinicians with patient examinations, simple treatments, and data recording under supervision.
