Job summary

Oxford Hills School District is seeking a Van Driver to support in and out of district transportation. The role requires the candidate to be 21+, hold a valid driver's license, and pass required background checks.

Responsibilities include safely transporting students, performing pre-trip inspections, keeping the van clean, supervising students, and reporting issues in accordance with Maine regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Be able to pass BMV-required check of driving history.
• Be able to pass a state of Maine DOE criminal history record check with fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Keep the van clean and maintained.
• Ensure students are discharged only at authorized stops.
• Supervise student behavior and enforce district rules.
• Report vehicle damage and complete accident reports when necessary.
• Follow all Maine traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• Refer transportation changes requested by parents to the Transportation Director.
• Ensure the vehicle is secure and empty when unattended.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
