Qualifications

• Education: Relevant 2-year degree or higher.
• Experience: 1-3 years in transportation, special education, and/or supervisory duties.
• Strong communication, leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision to the Special Education Route Coordinator.
• Monitor and evaluate transportation routes for efficiency, safety, and IEP compliance.
• Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and parents to address transportation concerns.
• Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluation of bus drivers and monitors on special education routes.
• Coordinate training on transporting students with disabilities, including safety procedures and emergency responses.
• Review route changes with the Route Coordinator to ensure optimal coverage.
• Serve as liaison between transportation and special education departments and outside agencies.
• Conduct ride-alongs/site visits to evaluate service quality.
