Job summary

Johnsburg School District 12 is seeking a part-time Dispatcher in the Transportation Department to support daily routing, communications, and student transport coordination.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Work hours are 2:00–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 174 days per year, with starting pay at $15.62/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with computers/technology and business machines.
• Secretarial skills are expected.
• Confidentiality must be respected.
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy in human relations.

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of laws, procedures and regulations governing school transportation.
• Completes tasks as directed by the Director.
• Answers phones, responds to inquiries, and directs callers appropriately.
• Monitors two-way radios and telephones; communicates effectively.
• Works with parents and district staff to implement route and schedule changes.
• Assists the Director in responding to emergencies to ensure safety of students, staff and equipment.
• Helps maintain student records as directed by Building Administrators.
• Protects confidentiality of district and transportation records.
• Maintains a positive office environment and uses district office equipment efficiently.
• Maintains good relationships with administrators, staff, students, and the community.
• Completes other duties as directed by the Director or District Administration.
• Attends meetings as scheduled.
