Job summary

Zuni Public Schools is seeking a Bus Attendant to ride buses and help the driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students. This role reports to the Transportation Supervisor and works according to assigned routes and schedules.

Responsibilities include supervising students during boarding and alighting, communicating with teachers and parents about behavior, and helping maintain safety equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment.
• Ability to work well with children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students as they board and leave bus and cross street.
• Manage student behavior and report discipline problems to the administrator.
• Communicate with teachers and parents regarding student behavior on the bus.
• Become familiar with all routes to and from school campus and maintain updated route schedule.
• Supervise use of seat belts and car seats and follow emergency procedures.
