Job summary

Great Bend Unified School District 428 is seeking a School Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for students, under the supervision of the Director of Transportation. You will maintain student discipline, follow district policies, and report any maintenance needs for district buses.

The role requires a valid CDL with endorsements, completion of behind-the-wheel training, and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL license with the required endorsements.
• Must meet state requirements for bus drivers, including Defensive Driving and First Aid certification.
• Must successfully complete behind-the-wheel training.
• Must complete required physical examination for bus drivers.
• Must be able to drive at night.

Responsibilities

• Provide clean, safe, and reliable transportation to students for school programs and activities.
• Maintain student discipline and adhere to district policies.
• Inspect bus prior to routes and report any issues to the Director of Transportation.
• Communicate effectively with district staff and community.
• Adhere to health and safety policies including Bloodborne Pathogens plan.
