Job Summary

The Student Transition Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of first time freshman, transfers, and all transition points. In this role the Student Transition Coordinator iwill serve as the New Student Orientation Leader. Under the direction of the Dean of Students, ensuring a cohesive and supportive experience for undergraduate students from admission through the completion of their first year. Responsible for all functions 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday, including weekends.

Job Responsibilities
  • 1. Collaborate with the Dean of Students to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate a comprehensive transition experience for all entering undergraduate students, both first – year and transfer students each trimester ensuring a seamless and supportive introduction to the University. This support will continue through the first year of the students’ education.
  • 2. Coordinate the development, organization, and execution of both virtual and in-person orientation programs that effectively prepare students for academic, social and campus life.
  • 3. Collaborate closely with the Dean of Students, Admissions, Academic Deans, and other campus partners to align transition programming with institutional goals and student success initiatives.
  • 4. Serve as the primary coordinator for transition-related communications, schedules, and programming, ensuring consistency, clarity, and timely delivery of information to new students and their families.
  • 5. Oversee all operational aspects of orientation and transition programs, including logistics, timelines staffing coordination, and resource management.
  • 6. Assess the effectiveness of transition and orientation programs through feedback, participation data, and outcomes, and share findings and recommendations with leadership to enhance student experience.
  • 7. Ensures compliance with university policies and procedures related to student programming and onboarding activities.
  • 8. Support a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered transition environment that fosters engagement, retention, and academic success.
  • 9. Work closely with the Student Life Staff to develop, coordinate, and implement student activities that support new student engagement and belonging.
Minimum Qualifications
Education

Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Higher Education, Communication, Marketing, or related field

Experience

Minimum: Two (2) or more years experience in admissions, orientation, student support services or related higher education experience.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in Higher Education, Communication, Marketing, or related field.

Five (5) or more years experience in admissions, orientation, student support services or related higher education experience.
