Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks a Student Transition Coordinator to coordinate first-time freshman and transfer transitions, serving as the New Student Orientation Leader under the Dean of Students. This on-site role requires 8 hours/day, 5 days/week with weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two or more years in admissions, orientation, or student support services in higher education.
• Master's degree in Higher Education, Communication, Marketing, or related field (desired).
• Five or more years in admissions, orientation, student support services, or related higher education experience (desired).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Dean of Students to plan and evaluate a comprehensive transition experience for entering undergraduates (first-year and transfers).
• Coordinate development and execution of virtual and in-person orientation programs for academic, social, and campus life preparedness.
• Work with Dean of Students, Admissions, Academic Deans, and campus partners to align programming with goals and student success.
• Serve as primary coordinator for transition communications, schedules, and programming for new students and families.
• Oversee logistics, timelines, staffing, and resources for orientation and transition programs.
• Assess program effectiveness via feedback and outcomes; share findings with leadership to improve the student experience.
• Ensure compliance with university policies related to onboarding activities.
• Support a welcoming, inclusive transition environment that promotes engagement and retention.
• Collaborate with Student Life staff to implement activities that enhance belonging for new students.

Education
